Being awarded Best Use of BIM is hugely rewarding, recognising the significant progress Translink has made in its digital strategy. Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the foundation of digital transformation and is used for creating and managing data during the design, construction and operations process, integrating multi-disciplinary data to create detailed digital representations.

Chris Millar, BIM Manager, comments “To see Translink winning this ‘Best use of BIM’ award is fantastic! Working on the Belfast Grand Central Station and Weavers Cross projects has enabled us to push the benefits of BIM, showcasing the many advantages of clear and collaborative information exchange, as well as engaging stakeholders with VR models and 3D walkthroughs. That collaboration and engagement ensures that the correct information is available at the right time to make informed decisions and avoid costly mistakes or changes. I’m delighted to be part of the Translink team as we progress on this journey as industry leaders.”

Being awarded Digital Construction Champion is recognition of the significant efforts and successes made by the Property Asset Team to streamline and improve technology, data and workflows in relation to all aspects of construction and Translink’s carbon footprint.

Julie Carrick, Head of Property Asset Management, adds “absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious award and to have been recognised for all the hard work that has been carried out to date to transform Property’s digital approach and use of information, systems and resources to deliver efficiencies, new ways of working and better use of all our resources. Also eternally grateful to be able to lead and be supported by a hardworking and dedicated team who continue to THINK BIG! and support me in my vision and journey. All to be continued ..”
